Roxie Harris is a Former city employee and a senior on disability waiting for payments on a worker’s compensation claim. She is a Visitacion Valley resident.

Roxie’s home was paid off. But then she suffered from a work injury that forced her into medical retirement. Because of the nature of the injury, she needed to make adjustments to her home in order to move around.

She is currently in default and Bank of America /Countrywide has denied a loan modification. No sale date has been set.

Foreclosure and Eviction Fighter Profile: Yin Wong

Yin Wong is a senior on disability and a Bayview resident.

The original lender of her loan sold the loan to PNC. She made payments to the original lender through electronic deductions. PNC and the original lender neglected to inform her of the transaction to sell her loan. She fell into default and PNC’s first correspondence with her was with a foreclosure notice.

PNC has attempted to evict Ms. Wong five times in the last two years. Each time, the case was dismissed as PNC neglected to send a representative.

On Jul7 26, 2012, supporters of Yin Wong protested at the San Francisco office of PNC Bank to demand a halt to the eviction and a fair deal loan modification. They succeeded in pressuring PNC Bank to postpone the eviction, but so far PNC hasn’t made Yin Wong a fair offer.

EDC, MEDA, ACCE, and the office of Nancy Pelosi are all working on this case.

Myrna Sebastian is a single mother and a Visitacion Valley resident. She reports that the broker who signed her up for her loan with Wells Fargo committed fraud, altering a loan document to qualify her for the loan. Wells Fargo denied a loan modification because she didn’t have enough income. However, her income has increased since she purchased the home. Wells Fargo plans to auction her home with a projected sales date of July 18, 2012.

Demands:

Foreclosure and Eviction Fighter Profile: Dorothy Crawford

Dorothy Crawford is a Fillmore resident. She has been a homeowner for 48 years. She is a retired UC employee.

Home repair loan. Wells Fargo solicited her several over a few months to do home repairs. However, the loan balance continues to increase. She is currently in default. Wells Fargo denied her a modification because they said she did not have enough income; however, her income has increased since she got the loan.

Demand:

  1. Fair deal loan modification with principal reduction.

Foreclosure and Eviction Fighter Profile: Ernesto Viscarra

Ernesto Viscarra is a long-term homeowner and occupant of a home in Bernal, where he also rents to another family living on the 2nd floor. Ernesto has lived in Bernal for 30 years. He is also an accomplished public speaker, a veteran fighter for social justice, and a participant in struggles against U.S. military intervention in Central America.

Wells Fargo offered Ernesto a loan modification and gave him a 3 month trial on the modification. After he made his second payment on the loan modification, Wells Fargo posted his home for public auction. Then, they postponed the sale date. Now, they have listed the home for auction again on June 20, 2012, even though Ernesto is still making payments on the loan. This a case of dual tracking.

Demands:

  1. Stop dual tracking.
  2. Fair deal loan modification.

Foreclosure and Eviction Fighter Profile: Betty Davis

Betty Davis is an 70-year-old resident of San Francisco’s Portola neighborhood with a mortgage owned by Fannie Mae, but previously serviced by Bank of America (Countrywide).

A Bank of America representative forced her to take out loan to make repairs on her house. Then, the lender foreclosed on and auctioned off her home on December 20, 2011. Now, Fannie Mae plans to evict her from her home.

Foreclosure and Eviction Fighter Profile: Joseph Melton

Joseph Melton is a long-time resident of the Bayview, a veteran, a disabled person, and a senior.

He reports that a loan modification scam on his Bank of America / NY Mellon loan for his family home made him the victim of loan modification scam. Bank of America auctioned off his home on August 29, 2011, and they claim the current owner is Bank of New York (Series 2007-21CB TR). They plan to evict him from his home.

Although he is currently employed, state layoffs reduced his income. Chase / Washington Mutual denied his loan modification because of reduced income. Chase claims a loan default on May 18, 2012, with an earliest foreclosure auction date of September 9, 2012.

Constance Bridgewater is a 40-year resident of Visitacion Valley and a city employee.
Chase / Diversified Mortgage Consultants (DMC) defrauded her of her home. They told her that to save her home, they would purchase it and sell it back to her. This never happened. The loan went into default. She sued the company, but received no settlement when she won as the company went into bankruptcy. She is currently living on the property, pending a bank foreclosure auction date of June 18, 2012.
